Social Enterprise/Charity/CIC of the Year

For this category, here's what we're looking for…

This award celebrates the businesses, charities, or CICs who support our communities and create meaningful impact in local people’s lives. Entries are open to not-for-profit charities and businesses which have a specific social aim and whose profits are used to deliver these objectives.

Entries should demonstrate a clearly evidenced social, environmental, or community impact in Tameside. Organisations should have a distinct vision and strategic direction, with excellent leadership and management of employees and/or volunteers. In response to a challenging financial landscape, organisations should show resilience and sustainability in terms of profit and growth.

The judges will also consider evidence of creativity and innovation, as well as a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion through their work.

Basic criteria:

  • Must be a business residing in the Borough of Tameside.
  • Must be a business which is currently actively trading.
  • The business must have a good compliance record with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
  • Must employ at least one Tameside resident.
